We are seeking a Stain and Finishing Technician to join our growing team. Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for painting or staining, including sanding, cleaning, and masking
• Protecting areas that will not be stained or painted from over-spray or accidental damage
• Repairing small imperfections on wood surfaces, such as dings or dents, using wood putty or fillers
• Apply paint, stain, or other finishes using spray equipment, wiping rags, brushes or rollers
• Applying stains to wood products to achieve desired colors and tones, using various techniques like brushing, spraying, or wiping
• Inspect finished surfaces for quality, consistency, and conduct touch-ups as needed
• Prepare stain and paint samples to match customer provided examples
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Follow all company, local, state and federal safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Follow all safety and environmental protocols related to paint, stain and chemical handling
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in woodworking stain industry

• Strong understanding of color theory and the ability to match colors precisely

• Familiarity with different wood types, their characteristics, and how they react to various stains and finishes

• Strong mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities

• Familiarity with sprayers and finishing equipment

• Able to read and understand production prints

• Detail oriented and organized person – multi tasking is a must

• Must be receptive to direct instructions but still be an independent & creative thinker.
